Introduction

About me and my interests:
Hello my name is Aileen Coutte and I am a Visual Communications major. My interests include digital artwork, reading and collecting books, video games, eco-friendly products, japanese animation and the japanese culture. Ever since I was young I've been passionate about drawing, and after later taking an interest in online role playing games, my artwork became influenced and entered into the digital form. My artwork is also inspired, influenced and stylized by japanese anime in which I make fictional characters for the shows or make artwork for the games that I enjoy playing. During my spare time, I am mostly playing my online game, reading books, watching anime or making digital artwork. I'm also interested in unique things that have never been seen before or that improve living. For example space conscious furniture, wand scanners that are portable and easy to use, and much more. I'm also interested in things that are very unique as in pens made up completely of smaller magnetic components.

Inspirations and things that "WOWs" me:
As I grew up, I also mostly watched Discovery Channel and witnessed several environmentally friendly innovations that helped me to grow my interest in the topic. These innovations helped to inspire the need to become more conscious about the environment. Other inspirations that I've seen are from artwork creations on the deviantart website that inspire me to become a better artist. Things that WOW me are things that have not been seen before or are very unique. Like showerheads that change color, pens that scan a color from any surface and can turn the ink to that color, and more.

3) Who, or What are your influences?
My influences mostly derive from video games and japanese animation. These are the two things I grew up with and enjoyed to this day. Such video games include Sonic the hedgehog and The Legend of Zelda. For Japanese animations, some include Card Captor Sakura who became my role-model, Dragonball Z and many more. I am also very passionate about the Japanese culture which mostly came from watching their animated shows. Other things that influence me are things I notice that better improve the environment as well as improve living.
4) What is your Vision or HOPE in your life(time)? (academically; professionally; and/or socially)
My first goal that I am going to be accomplishing academically is to receive my bachelor's degree in Visual Communications and to graduate this semester of Spring 2014. My hope for my profession is to find a career that I will be very happy, passionate and excited to be a part of and that would relate to one of my interests. I am also hoping that in the career that I will be a part of, that I will bring something positive and beneficial to the community. One of my main passions is in helping others, so having this passion correlate with my career would be great.

  3. I love japanese design. I admire those talented video game illustrators. I never knew how challenging is animation until I met someone that was doing it.
